Sorry, It's a Dud!
It's hard to believe that Ryan Madison, the famed director and renowned producer of high-end adult entertainment, would put out $1.99 porn. But it did happen in "Real Life Part 7." It's hard to say what his motive was, but it looks like he decided to produce this movie without the help of a cameraman. It appears he placed several tripod-mounted cameras in the room, took one in his hand while acting, and then used the feed from each of them to concoct a "movie." Never works. True, the angles change, but there is no zoom where it needs to be, no strategic camera shifts when they are called for. True, there are what I would call half-hearted close-ups at the end o each scene. But it seems like they happen when Ryan interrupts his acting, moves the camera closer, and then jumps back into bed. The upshot is a clumsy production that reminds me of the "Dirty Debutantes" series of 20 years ago, not of something that befits today's industry leader. I just hope it's a small hiccup, not a malaise. Kelly Madison has done way too many outstanding things over the years, and I hope to be able to look forward to its many more in the future.
