Stoya Atomic Tease
STOYA: WORKAHOLIC is a quiet, yet very impressive adult feature starring one of Digital Playground's most prolific brunettes. I had the opportunity to review her earlier work in STOYA ATOMIC TEASE, A TASTE OF STOYA, TEACHERS, MY FIRST PORN as well as others, and it was a pure pleasure to see such a striking presence simply get better and sexier with each new release. As it turns out, Stoya appears to have retired from blue movies (though one never knows just how permanent such sabbaticals can be in this business), but WORKAHOLIC is a sensational way to make an exit.
The story should be familiar to anyone who had watched their fair share of adult movies. Stoya has come to Southern California in order to renew her life and meets up with her friend, Carmel Moore who plays Lady Carmel (that title alone should indicate just what kind of work Miss Moore is into). Staying at her opulent home (a setting used so often in Robby D. pictures, that I'm probably more familiar with it than my own garage), Stoya soon finds that Miss Moore is into providing adult entertainment and naturally, eases into the same vocation. As a result, we get at least four out of six scenes involving Stoya, with the other two being observed carefully by the young padawan learner.
Carmel Moore's dominating scene over Tommy Gunn opens the movie superbly. An underrated performer, Miss Moore looks like a living sextoy in her latex top. She blows and rides Mr. Gunn with gusto, and there's no doubt that he's having a grand old time. Stoya observes quietly and with great interest, but her turn doesn't come until she meets up with Evan Stone, who is appropriately over-the-top as a hysterical submissive with a foot fetish. Her cutely innocent demeanor adds to the action which gets dirtier and more aggressive by the minute (though I must state that there are some early moments where the otherwise dependable Mr. Stone can't seem to maintain his excitement even with her mouth hard at work), and provides a fine "beginning" to Stoya's slow transformation.
Stoya then falls back into a passive participant role when "school girl" Vanessa Leon, a short-haired brunette who looks fetching in a white shirt, black vinyl skirt and white fishnet stockings, is disciplined by Ben English. Vanessa masturbates while Miss Leon bends over and sucks him while they standing, and then leans over a bed a good hard pounding. After a few more positions, she ends with a messy cum facial resulting in a great ending to a hot scene.
Stoya continues her work in a couple more scenes, first under the submission of Derrick Pierce, which is notable for some steamy fellatio shots where he guides her by the hair, and then with Mick Blue, whom she dominates and, of course, physically satisfies. The finale with Angelina Valentine is highlighted with sexy costuming (Angelina is in black and fishnets, while Stoya in a blue latex outfit) and some effective roleplaying. They both act as wet nurses to Tony DeSergio, who doesn't seem to be sick enough to warrant all that special attention (naturally, that's just my own jealousy at play here). I could have done without the rectal exam performed by a gloved Stoya on her patient, especially when it distracts from the sixty-nining fellatio courtesy of Miss Valentine, but I suppose the best medicine can often taste biter. Even though Stoya again falls back into mere observation mode, Angelina's efforts meet up to the standards established by the previous scenes. So the lack of a true threesome wasn't too devastating to my psyche.
There are several , but significant cinematic touches which distinguish STOYA: WORKAHOLIC from being just another average Robby D. feature. When the movie opens, we see a plane landing and then Stoya riding in a taxi as the credits roll. The look of quiet anxiousness in her face as she glances at big city skyscrapers set the perfect mood leading up to Stoya's sexual awakening. Other bits like Stoya not having enough cash for the cab ride also add to the story, and make all the house-bound action seem less confining. (Incidentally, the sympathetic driver lets her slide on the money, noting that she might return the favor some day, which she does at the end in a non-graphic shot.) So even with all the cliches, STOYA: WORKAHOLIC rises above the familiar storyline thanks to Mr. D's attention to detail.
It goes without saying that the audio and video quality of this Blu-ray title is simply top-notch. There are times when you feel like you're watching film instead of video, and the women and production values shine within the gorgeous high definition picture. The Behind The Scenes footage is fun and enjoyable, but I expect a bit more from Blu-ray releases, especially when the main feature ends up being this good. It's the only element of this disc which prevents STOYA: WORKAHOLIC from receiving a top rating across the board.
