"The Truth Is Out There" in this Fantastic Sci-Fi/Horror DVD!

By Spooky
Can a porn movie be scary and sexy at the same time? It can if you're director Michael Raven and you're at the helm of The Visitors - one of the spookiest (if you'll pardon the pun) adult features I have ever seen.

There's a lot to admire about The Visitors DVD release, but let's start with the movie itself. This is a simple story, shot on what appears to be a modest budget (or at least a mid-range one), but yet it's one of the best adult releases of 2006. Why, you ask? Story...plain and simple. Raven, who often lets his music video style get the best of him, doesn't bombard the viewer with too many quick cuts or fancy visuals. He lets the story drive the movie, and I appreciated his restraint.

Also, Raven makes the extremely smart move of never giving us a direct look at the aliens...they exist in the shadows (aptly, Raven originally wanted to call this movie "The Shadow People"), and because we never get to see exactly what they look like or find out their true purpose, it makes the movie that much more scary. As any horror filmmaker worth his salt will tell you, a movie monster is much more terrifying when you don't let the audience see it...that's because the monster we create in our mind's eye is almost always much more terrifying than anything a filmmaker could put on-screen.

But hey, you want to know about the sex, right? Raven's story doesn't skimp on the erotic action, with five boy/girl scenes and one alien involving star Kimberly Kane and an alien probe. Remember those horror movies from the 80s where having sex on camera also meant that you were next on the serial killer's menu? Raven does a similar thing here, where shortly after the sex, the participants are . So after the "moans and groans," get ready for some additional screaming, as the aliens stalk their prey!

Although she's not really the "star" of the movie (Kimberly Kane is), former Wicked Contract Star Keri Sable has a nice scene in The Visitors with Chris Evans in the bed of a pickup truck where she gets anal in the missionary position. Ms. Kane has two sex scenes - one with Evan Stone that features an important plot twist (not to mention a great oral cumshot into Kimberly's mouth); and the final sexual action of the title, where we get to see her pussy probed aboard the alien's spaceship.

The other sex scenes in the movie consist of pairings between Wicked Girl Kirsten Price and real-life hubby Barrett Blade; a deserted train car encounter featuring Avena Lee and Eric Masterson; and a fireside handjob/blowjob segment with Cassie Courtland and Marcos Leon.

The movie is presented in anamorphic widescreen and comes with both 5.1 Dolby sound and the option to listen to a feature-length commentary track with Michael Raven, Kimberly Kane, Kirsten Price and Avena Lee.

The Visitors wraps up with an entertaining coda (look for a cameo by the director) that suggests a sequel may be on the way. Let's hope so, because The Visitors is quite simply the best Wicked movie to come along since the last time they tackled the sci-fi genre in Space Nuts.

As if the film alone wasn't enough reason to pick this one up, Wicked Pictures has gone all-out with the bonus features, providing a second DVD in this set that is just loaded with material (and some pretty nifty menus, to boot). The second DVD is divided up into four different sections: "Classified Recon," "Analysis Database," "Auxiliary Stimulus," and "Intelligence Report".

The "Classified Recon" section is full of behind the scenes material, starting with a 24-minute making-of featurette entitled Incident At Desert City. There's also a 2-minute look at some of the special effects; a 5-minute segment on scouting locations for the movie; a short slide show of alien sketches (which may or may not be storyboards for the film...the DVD never specified); and an 8-minute interview with Michael Raven where he discusses the genesis of The Visitors.

"Analysis Database" is where you'll find all the sexually-themed bonus material, starting with a 15-minute look at some of the sex in the movie from the crew's point of view. Viewers will want to make sure and check this section out, since the raw footage contains some sex that got deleted from the final cut of the movie (like Evan doing Kimberly doggy style during their pairing). There's also a 5-minute glamour shoot featurette with the women of the movie; a look at the molding of Kirsten Price's vagina for a Wicked sex toy; and bonus scenes with Kimberly Kane (with Eric Masterson from the release of All About Keri) and Kirsten Price and Keri Sable (their bathroom lesbian coupling from But I'm With The Band). However, the coolest feature in this section is a game entitled Area 69 Trivia with Kirsten Price where correctly answering questions about the movie will unlock an " Aftermath" scene where Kirsten sucks off and gets an oral pop-shot from a guy (whose face we never see).

The "Auxiliary Stimulus" section of Disc 2 contains 3-minutes worth of bloopers/outtakes from the movie; Recovered Footage (which is actually made up of video of clouds that look like alien spaceships; some special effects footage of the spaceship in the movie; and an animated test of an alien running); a minute's worth of deleted footage; and the music video for "Take Me Away," which is heard over the end credits of the actual film. The video is directed by Michael Raven and performed by Billy Missle, with lyrics by Hillary Hightower. This section of the DVD also includes the typical Wicked promotional material they put on all of their feature releases, including the trailer for The Visitors and 7 other Wicked titles.

"Intelligence Report" is the area of Disc 2 where you'll find all the slide shows, with separate sections for the female stars, the sex scenes, the overall movie, and behind the scenes photos. Cast biographies are also located in this section.

Those still looking to uncover the "truth" behind The Visitors will want to conduct an "Easter Egg" search of this second disc. I won't spoil it for you by telling you exactly where to look, but I was able to uncover at least two hidden "eggs" - one featuring Evan Stone and his two dogs; and the other showing a surprise on-set birthday party for producer Mark Nicholson.

If there's a downside to The Visitors, it's that the movie leaves you wanting more. Who are these mysterious aliens? Where do they come from? What do they want? The truth is still out there, but until Wicked decides to green-light a sequel, we'll have this release of The Visitors for those late nights when we're looking to be both aroused and scared at the same time.

Unbelievable Movie!

By Amber
My boyfriend and I have watched "The Visitors" twice now and can't recommend it highly enough. We're huge fans of both horror and porn and never thought we'd see both in the same movie. (Well, at least, not done well.)

But this movie was so well-done. Its well-written storyline, excellent casting, and beautiful scene direction made for a very frightening yet very, very sexy experience.

We both say it's a definite "must-see." Also, if you see it, you have to check out the bonus disc. Saying it's incredible doesn't do it justice!
