What can a longtime porn aficionado (like yours truly) say about Private Extreme: Gonzo Style?

That the video is top notch? Absolutely. Although not exactly high definition, the 16:9 anamorphic widescreen picture is terrific, especially during the outdoor scenes where images take on an almost film-like characteristic. Sure there are occasional anomalies like pixelation and some white balance problems, but on the whole I can think of a cleaner medium to watch dirty movies.

That the sound is up to standards? This English-only soundtrack should prove a welcome relief to those who can't stand to hear overdubbed porn, or else don't care for any of the finer European languages.

That the production values are excellent? Certainly. Although only one scene takes place outdoors by a swimming pool, the scenic city-scape background is impressive (we get clear shots of activity on the street as Toni Ribas and Liz Honey fuck publicly on a rooftop), as are the indoor scenes which take place in at least two or more opulent mansions.

That the women are gorgeous? Well, duh.

So how about the sex itself? Well, it's generally recognized that even the earliest Private titles emphasized - with no particular fanfare - anal, double penetrations, oral cumshots and multiple girl on guy scenes long before it became the "norm" in American adult. But since this DVD is oh-so-obviously aimed at the gonzo crowd, the standards are a bit different (and in fact, may be better or worse depending on how you feel about porn as art, but I digress...). With so many video pushing the limit of "normal" sexual conduct, it's getting harder and harder (pun intended) to compete in the overcrowded market of stroke material. As a result, the action found in GONZO STYLE isn't too unusual or different from what you get in other American-made smut.

Indeed, director Toni Ribas follows the same conventions of the genre, including point-of-view cocksucking, prolonged butt-fucking, cum-swapping, ass-to-mouth and anything else one might reasonably expect from a Red Light District, Anabolic, Third Degree, or whatever other company has seen fit to unleash new product. What you don't get find here, thankfully, are some of the less desirable traits associated with typical gonzo material, including less than attractive women, crude bordering on the inept videography, and long (not to mention often inane) "interviews" with the girls as well as much in the way of dirty talk. Actually, I would have like to see the girls in GONZO STYLE say more than just a few words, but their orgasmic moans and cries of ecstasy can be heard loud and clear.

After the title credits, we are greeted by dirty blonde Liz Honey, who shows off her body poolside for a few minutes as we enjoy the view. However, lucky Mr. Ribas gets to do more than just watch when he helps himself to this comely lass, lapping up her pussy, then sitting up so that she can return the oral favors. After a few positions of straight fucking, she gets on all fours for some backdoor entry. Though her head looks a bit uncomfortable pushed against the floorboards, she takes it like a pro and rides him even more vigorously in reverse-cowgirl. He cums in her mouth (with the first shot unfortunately missing its target) and she continues to deep throat him while he groans in relief.

Next up, brunettes Claudia Rossi and Lucy Lee (not to be confused with Asian American Lucy Lee) get double pounded by Toni Ribas and Ramon Namor. Claudia has great legs, and Lucy just looks great. Both girls are dressed in short plaid shorts and tight shirts, and both are excellent at their craft. It's just too bad we don't get to see more footage of them engaged in girl-girl action (reserved only for a few scant seconds at the beginning) before the real hardcore starts, which incidentally, begins with a big booty-bang as the girls are on all fours. There is actually more fucking footage than there is oral, but they both get DP-ed and they finish the scene with two successive cumshots to the mouth, with each girl sharing the loads almost equally. Then, they make out like mad for a few seconds (how I wished the director kept the camera going a little while longer!) before the fade to black. Now for a little bitching on an otherwise fine scene: Though I don't make it a habit of staring at the guys, I have to admit that the large black tattoos on Mr. Namor's person are distracting to say the least, and I wish the camera would see fit to keep his "body art" out of focus. (I can't tell whether it's a lobster or scorpion on his right butt cheek, but whatever it is, it's not easy on the eyes.)

Niki Ryder, a sultry brunette who reminds me of Taryn Thomas, shows off her fuckable figure which is barely covered in a checkered bra and skirt with thigh high boots. She gets on her knees to orally worship the hard-on of Greg Centauro, who permits her to take a break every once in awhile so she can suck on his tongue. She then turns her attention to David Perry who sits quietly by and gives him a little sampling of her lip service before they penetrate her vaginally and anally (including DP). The action goes on for as long as she can take it, but at no time does she seem tired or even break a sweat, until they make a mess on her face and chest. Niki is as sexy as they come in porn, and it won't be long before she becomes a big hit in the U.S.

Covergirl Boroka Bolls gives Mr. Perry some satisfying dick slurping shot initially in POV style. This coupling is so straightforward and uneventful (despite her willingness to taste his cum) that it's almost below average compared to the rest of the flick. I'll probably skip over this scene when re-watching this disc.

Thankfully, GONZO STYLE ends with another foursome, this time with Luoy Mai (a somewhat tough looking Asian) and Rebecca Linares (who has a pleasant girl-next-door look). They are pounced upon by Toni Ribas and who I assume to be Andrew Moran. Actually, the action isn't too distinguishable from the Rossi/Lee foursome, but we get a little bit more clit-licking by the girls, and they react more excitedly at getting anal-ized and DP-ed. Miss Mai takes both money shots on her tongue, but Rebecca gets a few licks of her partner's chest and face. It doesn't compare to the first three scenes, but it is up to gonzo standards.

Bonus materials are limited to a Cast section which basically lists each girl and identifies other Private DVDs and magazines on their resume, a few trailers (which are effective enough to make me want to puck up THE PRIVATE LIFE OF NIKI RYDER) and some company information presented in video snippets. The only caveat I have about this disc is that there are no chapter stops immediately before the tease sections of each scene. Instead, we jump right into the action without proper introductions from each girl. So if you want a little warm-up before the hardcore starts, make sure you speed search the disc instead of skipping around. Otherwise, I have no other complaints about this well-produced DVD.
