Merc

Not a lot features come out of Evil Angel so I was intrigued when I came across Merc, a mostly Black, with a little Latin, "hardcore sexual thriller" by Justin Slayer -- the first of three parts. Filmed in HD and sporting incredible production values, the movie was dragged down by a basic story line, and -- dare I say this about something spawned by the Evil Empire? -- mostly average action.

The story unfolds with the narrator, Sick (Justin Slayer), describing how he grew up in the street hustle game. Flash forward to the present and Sick and his friend Nico (Nat Turner) are working for Greedy, doing whatever it is that street hustlers do. Greedy lets his guard down because of pussy and gets robbed. It becomes Sick and Nico's responsibility to find out who did it and to get the money back. Sick starts fucking the girls around the neighborhood and eventually finds out that the lovely Roxy Reynolds took the money shortly before she left the country. Fearing that Greedy will think they were in on it, Sick and Nico head over to his house to take him out. Greedy is smarter than he looks and part one ends with about as good a car chase as you'd expect to see in porn.

As expected from a Justin Slayer production, there are plenty of black and Latin women hauling around big butts in this movie. The opening scene stars Millian Blu as Kiki in a home movie from when Sick was fucking her -- she's now banging Greedy. It has an amateur feel to it but is filmed beautifully and very well lit. It doesn't feature any spectacular action -- blowjob, missionary, doggie and facial.

One of the sexiest scenes in the movie isn't even a full scene, and maybe it's the tease factor that makes it work. When Sick gets the call that Greedy's been robbed, he's getting blown by the very hot Chyanne Jacobs with her jeans pulled halfway down her ass. It's filmed and edited like a sex scene in a mainstream film but you get to see the goods. There's no payoff, but seeing Chyanne kneeling over with her ass high made this a very enjoyable scene.

For the next two scenes Sick and Nico take turns fucking Roxy, who has a very nice body with long legs, a luscious ass and perky breasts. Both scenes feature Roxy working with a vibrator and it gets a little wet and messy during Nico's ride. Both fuck her as you'd expect them to -- again, nothing fancy -- with Sick finishing on her face, and Nico opting for her jiggly ass.

Next, Sick decides to fuck Roxy's friend, Tawana (Melrose Foxxx), who has a slender, tight body topped off with a blonde wig. This scene starts out in the bathroom before Tawana crawls into bed, props her ass up with some pillows and proceeds to take a nice pounding from Sick (side note: there is no anal in this movie). He tries his best to drill her through the mattress but gives up and cums on her face instead.

The final scene in the movie is tied in to the plot very loosely. From what I could gather, Sick uses the memory of a trip the two of them took to Brazil to convince Nico to help take Greedy out. Cut to a black-haired Brazilian dancing in a bikini on the beach. After a lengthy tease she wanders back into a courtyard where we find another Brazilian with the most extreme combination of tiny waist/big ass I've ever seen. She's blonde by the way. This is a setup for a very strong scene but it doesn't deliver. There's very little interaction between the girls (Luanna and Joyce are their names for those keeping score) and more of the blowjob/doggie/cowgirl formula that goes on a little too long. The action moves back to the U.S., the car chase begins and "To Be Continued" flashes on the screen.

What Merc lacked in creative fucking or genuinely interesting story line, it made up for in how it looked. I'll leave it up to you to decide which is more important in a porno. This movie looked like it was funded, filmed and edited by a Hollywood studio. The scenes were well lit, the sound was impeccable and the action was presented as beautifully as anything you'd pay ten dollars to go see on a Saturday night. I just wish the content could have lived up to the presentation.

The extras on this two-disc release are ample. There's an audio commentary and you can choose to play the movie in 5.1 or 2.0 dolby sound. The extra material includes a photo gallery, cast list, list of websites, cumshot recap, filmographies for Roxy, Millian and Chyanne, and 46 trailers (I didn't watch every one, but I trust that they're there). There are about 10 minutes of extra tease footage, about 25 minutes of behind-the-scenes, which includes a deleted Melrose Foxx dialogue scene, and over 20 minutes of interviews with Melrose Foxxx and Millian Blu discussing what their expectations were for the movie and how the final product measured up.

To sum up, Merc is a technically very well done film with a basic plot and female talent appealing to those with a taste for big butts. Any fans of Justin Slayer's work will want to see this movie, but I wouldn't recommend it to a wider audience.
