Control Freaks

Actor turned director Vince Vouyer has made some great videos over the years. His output at Red Light District and other studios have shaped the way gonzo is now made, so it's good to see that his own company is taking advantage of the high definition medium while other major studios have been lagging behind.

It is therefore unfortunate to see that CONTROL FREAKS disappoints in both content and on a technical level. With a cast where the eye-candy isn't nearly as sweet as one might reasonably expect, the five fairly straightforward sex scenes really aren't nearly as "freaky" as the title suggest. The overall theme is one of domination, but the action is no more daring than usual. Of all the scenes, only Gina Lynn appears to be going the distance, as she dominates a gagged and bound James Deen in a segment titled "Money Well Spent." Wearing fetish attire, she sits on his face, sixty-nines him, then directs him to fuck on the floor and on a couch in an energetic and quite arousing scene. After he cums in her mouth, she takes it all in greedily. There's no doubt that Gina is the star performer here, but you have to wait until the penultimate scene to get to her.

Thick and curvy Samira opens CONTROL FREAKS as the "Cock Tease." Her scene with Jerry emphasizes her talented oral skills, with camera angles often shot in POV (Point Of View) style. She maintains good eye-contact and looks good getting banged in doggy. Unfortunately, this first scene (and to a lesser extent, the rest of this flick) is shot in high contrast lighting, where backgrounds are washed out in blindingly white images, and where flesh seems to be glowing radioactively. If this effect is deliberate, then it's got to stop because of the eye-straining results. (Watching a greased-up Ron Jeremy prance around naked in a G-string would be less painful.) However, if this effect is accidental, then the technical error is unforgivable and seriously degrades the overall product.

With her pierced nipples, spiky blonde hair, nose stud, and skinny figure, it's no wonder that Myka Rain was cast in the next segment, "Girl Punk." She has nice, long legs which are not necessarily shown off to their greatest effect in purple and black striped nylons. She and Sascha do it in a variety of positions all around the house, beginning in the bathroom where she blows him, continuing into the bedroom where she gets banged, and then moving on by twin doors where she gets doggied standing up, and the concluding on a staircase where cowgirl and some pussy to mouth sucking are part of the action. With an angle from below, we notice Monica's sizable chest pressed against the surface, and I suppose only a scant few will have Sir Mix-A-Lot's second attempt at a pop hit (after making it big with "Baby Got Back" back in 1992) "Put 'Em On The Glass" running through their mind as they watch this scene. In any event, the two eventually change settings, but continue screwing on a large stuffed white tiger, and finish up with doing it missionary style on top of a bed. After Gina Lynn's turn, we come to Asa (pronounced "ah-sa") Akira, the featured cover girl. She looks much better in the movie than in her photo, and while not particularly outstanding in her sexual performance, she is good at taking a cumshot to the mouth, and becomes more appealing as the action progresses. Yet, her threesome with Anthony Rosano and Talon is filled with so many deliberate breaks in the action, that the whole shtick becomes frustrating. She sucks and fucks them one at a time in different places (by a window, on a toilet, then on a couch) and in different positions, while changing outfits just as frequently. While variety is nice, so is coherency. When she finally engages both of them before the climax, all we get is a bit of her being fucked by Rosano while Talon gets sucked, and minutes later, the two jerk off in her mouth.

Bonuses include "Cutting Room Floor" footage which is better described as a Behind The Scenes featurette, and "Bonus Core: Asa Akra" which is nearly thirteen minutes worth of video featuring Asa milling about and masturbating with a dildo. A minute of advertising promoting Vouyer's website precedes the main feature, using footage obviously taken during the "Bonus Core" shoot. I don't care for any front-loaded commercial announcements of any kind (though they are not as intrusive or as long as what you find in Hustler or Vivid Blu-rays), but I'm willing to endure them if it means the forgoing of watermarks. (The last Vouyer title I reviewed, YOUNG GIRLS IN TIGHT JEANS #3 was plastered with them, but they are thankfully absent here.)

Even without the technical problems, CONTROL FREAKS does not rise anywhere near above average due to some questionable talent and uninspired performances. I do not expect excellence every time I watch a new Blu-ray porno, but I do want something which is worthy of the high definition upgrade and offers an above-average erotic experience.

Vouyer Media's Control Freaks is a gonzo DVD that stars a hot, young cast of newbies along with porn veteran, Gina Lynn. If you haven't seen newcomer Asa Akira yet, what are you waiting for? I have yet to watch her Gina Lynn titles, but she is absolutely amazing in Fetish Fucks 3 and Control Freaks. Control Freaks was my personal favorite because even the behind the scenes footage was enough to turn me on. Watching her get laced up into her corset made me want to skip everything else to get right to her scene. Also, Vince Vouyer does a fantastic job at capturing all the hottest angles and erotic sex positions. I especially love how he incorporated mirrors in most of the scenes; it was like getting a double dose of the action.

The first scene, starring ethnic beauty Samira, had a lot of variety. It started off with some really great pussy eating, so I was happy from the very beginning. I just love watching oral sex when the position is something other than missionary. Along with all the oral action, you can see some POV shots, doggy style pounding, titty fucking, and more! The open mouth facial in the end wraps up the opening scene.

Myka Rain is fun to watch because she is a lot of things all rolled into one - she's punk rock, playful, and smokin' hot. She does some solo toy play in the bathroom before giving her man oral pleasure. The scene then cuts to the bedroom where Myka gets her fishnets ripped and her pussy eaten. Myka shows off her body as her tight little pussy gets pounded in the missionary position. When the action moves to the stairs, we really get to see Myka taking cock balls deep in the doggy style and reverse cowgirl positions. It was my favorite part of this well-lit scene.

Probably the most erotic scene on this DVD had to be Monica Foster's. She struts her stuff in a metallic bikini before getting her perfectly round ass rubbed down with oil by the pool. Although this scene tends to skip around, it was for the better because we get to see a good variety of sex acts. There is a lot of voyeurism involved, one on one action, and the actual threesome towards the end. Overall, in this scene we get to see Ms. Akira's oral skills (which are very impressive) and her ability to take on two cocks at once. I would have loved to see her in some DP action, but I guess I'll just have to wait for that. In the end, Asa takes two big loads in her mouth after getting fucked in the spooning position.

The extras on this DVD include the Cutting Room Floor (behind the scenes footage with interviews and naughty sneak peaks), hardcore pics, trailers, and a bonus masturbation scene with Asa. I'm usually not a huge fan of masturbation scenes (male or female), but she seemed like she was really enjoying herself and that's what made it work for me.

Whether you are a Gina Lynn fan, obsessed with newbies, or just like girls who know how to take control, I would definitely recommend that you add this DVD to your collection. Cover girl Asa Akira is stunning in it, and I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot more of her in the future. And, when the first scene of a DVD makes you want to explode right then and there, it's definitely worth owning.
