This Is The Girl

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - David Stanley's movies for Vivid may not always be sizzling hot, but they always provide the home viewer with something interesting to watch. In This Is The Girl, Stanley eschews his normal Lynchian-like bizarreness and gives us a straight-up love story between characters played by Mercedez and Eric Masterson. Of course, there's always a twist, and the twist here is that Mercedez's character happens to be a lesbian.

As the movie opens, Eric's character builds up the nerve to finally admit to Mercedez his feelings about her...but since she is gay, she explains to him that what he wants will never be able to happen. So instead, we get to watch Mercedez in a hot girl/girl coupling with cute little Cherokee - a scene that includes mutual oral and fingering, plus Cherokee wearing a strap on and letting Mercedez ride it in the reverse cowgirl position.

Before returning to the main storyline, we take a little sidetrack and see a segment in which Nicole Sheridan plays a hooker and offers her body up to Voodoo on a bench in an alley. This isn't a bad scene, but we've seen these two performers so many times together over the years, there's really not much new here either.

Cherokee discovers that Eric has admitted his feelings for Mercedez, and worried that she might "go straight," Cherokee convinces Steven St. Croix to follow her up to Mercedez room where she hopes to get him to cum on Mercedez panties and then blame Eric for jerking off on them. Of course, in order to get Steven to cum, Cherokee first has to get him off...and she does with some blowjob action, followed by spoon, doggy and missionary.

Meanwhile, we get to see Eric at his thankless job, where a client played by Kimberly Kane convinces him that he needs to get his act together and get on with his life. She helps him get started by fucking him right there at work. Unfortunately, Eric's boss (a non-sex cameo by porn legend Sharon Kane) catches them in the act and promptly fires him.

Cherokee's trick makes Mercedez think that Eric has masturbated into her panties, so she storms off...and later than night gets involved in an accident that sends her to the hospital. Cherokee blames Eric, and he's dragged off to jail for quite the "uncomfortable" evening (thanks to his two new prison buddies!).

Of course, this being porn, all's well that ends well - and Eric both gets out of jail and finally hooks up with Mercedez in the movie's final scene.

Extras on this DVD include five bonus scenes from other Vivid releases - three of which feature Mercedez in action. There's also a nice 25-minute behind the scenes segment, which is much longer than most behind the scenes material on Vivid releases. Additional bonuses include a pair of slide shows, a text bio of Mercedez, and four trailers for other Vivid releases. The DVD also features multiple angles for selection portions of the movie's sex scenes.

This is one of Stanley's more "understandable" films (no aliens or surreal situations in this one), and it's also one of the better features Mercedez has starred in. So if you're a fan of this busty beauty, this one is worth adding to your collection.
