Dani Daniels: Dare

I have rather strong reservations about Dani Daniels. That's nothing against her, but she seems to be a throwback to the 90's-era studio contract star, over made-up and not really seeming to want to be involved in sex as much as modeling and being famous. Maybe it's that they're making a big deal here of the fact that this is her first set of boy-girl scenes, and that seems like so not a big deal to me at all. But then we open with an interview sequence that makes her seem far more human than the box cover makes her seem to be. Dare I say she's downright lovely in the film Dare, personable, confident, attractive. I expect Mason to get the best out of everyone in her films, as she's so good with her interviews at getting us as close as possible to the female talent. She talks about why she was only doing girl-girl scenes, as she was always into one man but many women, and didn't think she could be with many men. She was thrilled that she would be setup with hot chicks and get paid for it. Sounds like why I would be involved.

Then we get the heading for Dani's first boy-girl scene, and she's in this tight little dress that is just delicious. She really does seem nervous. I wonder what the person driving the car thinks. She is wearing way too much makeup here. But off we go, and she's not wearing the dress thing she had on in the limo, but instead this blue swimsuit looking thing that I can't identify. Mason still does the best ease sequences in the industry. It's not even close. She captures women as we want to look at them, rather than just having the woman dance to some generic music and bend over a few times. The bit here with the sunshades going up while she walks to the window was simply perfect. Dare I say artistic?

Now we're outside with Dani, in the same outfit. No real explanation for why, and it looks bloody hot there. Very much out on the rooftops, and there go the clothes. I think we're somewhere downtown, but I don't know Los Angeles all that well. But it's our buddy Manuel Ferrera here, wearing a suit instead of one of his fashionably questionable pairs of shorts. Mason's a bit impatient with the camera here, moving it around continuously when a steady shot would have told the story just as well. Still too much eye makeup on Dani here. I feel like I can't see her as well as I should be able to. Kind of a standard scene with Manuel, though without any anal in it. A huge facial in the end, which does a nice job of introducing her first scene with a guy. For her fans this is probably an excellent first scene with cock for her.

Then she relays the tale of getting finger-banged by someone she knows on a dancefloor in Vegas. Not like performing, but at a nightclub. Interesting story. Then we go to clichéd classical music and nude posing on a balcony. I don't really know why, no. Worse, I thought they were going to have it be a masked guy scene at first when Mick Blue and James Deen wandered in doing their best Phantom of the Opera impressions. But those came off right away. I hate masks in porn, though I can't explain why. It goes from gentle to them ripping her clothes off. Well, trying, as they got stuck for a bit. They played if off pretty well, though. This one gets quite a bit more rough, and it shows the potential Dani really has. Probably not long before we're looking at her first anal and first DP.

Overall it's a well-done film, and fans of Dani will be happy, probably, with this direction her career has taken. She's definitely not shy about it, and her performance goes completely opposite of my expectations from the box cover. But I should know better, with Mason directing and the film being from Elegant Angel, that they aren't going to go completely soft with anything.

As it has been almost 6 years apart from when this movie was released to when I wrote this review. I'll be keeping this short.

All I can say is that Dani Daniels did this movie for her own pleasure, not to boost her career or for money. Every scene she performs in is incredible, from the teases to the sex, My personal favourite is the three-way with Karlie Montana & Manuel, Karlie's presence is just spellbinding and it really rubbed off Dani so well, it truly is exquisite.

Mason's direction is of course nothing short of incredible too, and I'll recommend you should buy the Blu Ray version.
