Prime Time

Nic Cramer, the perverted provocateur behind the Apocalypse Climax films, has entered into a completely new territory with his latest film, Prime Time. Utilizing the Freudian notion that dreams are the subconscious manifestation of repressed sexual urges, Cramer creates a titillating tale of one lowly man's discovery that his television set is the gateway to immediate sexual gratification. What I find of most value in this work is his ability to generate hot steamy sexual situations from the complex spatial realm that encloses his characters and expresses their desires.

The narrative revolves around Rob (Gino Grecco), a hopeless daydreamer who stumbles upon a magical television set that allows him to fully experience the action as it appears on-screen. Rob also has been seeing sexy psychiatrist Dr. Fran (Julie Meadows), so we can only assume that this magical box will contribute to Rob's already unstable grip with reality. Once Rob realizes that his TV can bring any situation to life, he is able to satiate the repressed urges of the id. Luckily for us, our protagonist's only desire is to have freaky sex with extremely beautiful women. Recalling Cronenberg's Videodrome, Rob totally submits to the powers of his television, which engulfs him in a web of sexual depravity.

When our story begins, we are already within one of Rob's fantasies. In it, the delicious Dru Berrymore is being manhandled by Rafe. Surrounded in a strange oneiric landscape, the sexy blonde Dru bends her sweet glistening body into a plethora of positions for Rafe's phallic fire hose. Just as Dru gets a full facial, Rob awakens from this vision to find a mysterious new TV set in front of him. Somewhat hesitant at first, Rob cautiously sets it up and flips through the channels. Soon there are knives and arrows protruding from the set, sending Rob fleeing in a panic.

Rob then tries to find solace from Dr. Fran, but she is already servicing someone on the couch when he arrives. Julie Meadows really does an outstanding job as the sympathetic shrink whose unique of self gratification is just what the doctor ordered. When we first find Dr. Fran, she and Gene (John Strong) are having it hot and heavy on a leather couch. Fran spreads her lily white legs so that Gene can receive his treatment, ramming his member deep into her silken pussy. After blowing his load all over her tits, we fade back to Gene on the couch, revealing that it had only been another fantasy.

Once Rob is able to convince Fran that his allegations are true, they both indulge in their repressed desires by entering the television set when they see someone that they'd like to fuck. Rob chooses a sexy Baywatch blonde (Dolly Garden) to resuscitate him from sexual boredom, leaving Fran to channel surf for another playmate to fornicate with.

Near the end of the film, Rob can't control his urge to satisfy every desire that enters his head. Deciding that he would like to try an Asian goddess to play with, he finds a station with the adorable Miko Lee playing some nude pool. Miko wastes no time in sucking him off, dripping cum from her chin on to her petite titties. Although Cramer doesn't provide any sort of solution for the existential dilemma of excessive id indulgence, it's still a damn good film with some really hot girls, and that's what matters anyway. I've always had a soft spot for Nic Cramer films, which are constantly a cut above the normal riffraff that comes out these days. Pleasure Productions put a lot of effort into this one, the visual and audio quality are top-notch, including some extra material on the disc to make it a worthwhile addition to your collection. Unfortunately, there are no trailers, but there are quite a few pictures in the gallery and some biographies of the stars.

You'll have to prepare yourself for the story I'm about to tell you. The gentleman here is named Rob. He attends weekly therapy meetings with his psychotherapist named Fran. Rob is an everyday guy who just, well lets face it, needs to get laid. Rob has just inherited a $50 T.V. from an unknown source. This T.V. however is not of this world. No T.V. made by human hands could have forged this power of entertainment. Rob is soon going to find out that his inheritance is a source of great pleasure and amazing power. Rob is about to crossover into the...Prime Time, Baby!

That's right, at the stroke of midnight Rob's ordinary television can bring to life the very program he is watching at that time. It will also allow him to enter into the television itself to engage in the activities. Lucky for Rob and us, his therapist suggests he watch porn. What a novel idea! Who wouldn't like the power to beam themselves right on to that porn set and participate in a scene of their choice? I know I would!

This is a relatively good storyline that could have made its way ontp The Twilight Zone series. A possessed television that sucks you in to the make believe world of entertainment. Director Nic Cramer has written and produced this feature, which at times is very entertaining. The story is a good one, however it does fall apart in some moments and really doesn't go into any explanation as to why this is happening.

Filming of this feature is done very well. It is shown in letterbox format, and the camera work on the film is top-notch, capturing the best of the sex scenes from all angles. A great transfer to DVD makes this even more of an enjoyable picture to watch. Front and center on the box cover is Dru Berrymore. This incredibly hot nymph is the star of this film. Although she only appears in the first scene, it gets this DVD off to a great start. Her scene alone is worth the price of this DVD. Then to have a cast like Julie Meadows, Dolly Golden and Miko to back her up will truly make you feel like your in The Twilight Zone!

Julie Meadows gets most of the screen time, appearing in two of the five scenes on this disc. Her character doesn't exactly believe what Rob says about his T.V., until one night she comes by his apartment to check on him. However, he is not there. She turns on the television, only to be sucked into it. Lucky for her it, was a sexy well-hung stud that awaited her, not a war time feature, or Sally Struthers commercial! Lee Stone plays the stud who gets to show Julie what sex entertainment is all about. Their scene is pretty hot and one of the best on the disc. Julie gives Lee a deep and wild blowjob, and then takes in all of his cock in her pussy before Lee gives her a nice little facial. Then Julie makes her way back to the real world where Rob is waiting for her. (Where were you Rob?!)

This is a good flick for couples looking for some adult fun and Julie Meadows fans that just can't get enough of the sexy blonde. Extras really don't add much to the value of this disc. Pleasure has included a photo gallery of the film, a list of releases that is actually a catalog listing since you cannot view any trailers, and a star biographies section that should read "Biography of Dru Berrymore", since she is the only one listed!
