Hot Blooded

Sin City strikes me a bit like Pontiac sometimes. GM already has Chevy for their performance category, right? Pontiac, then, just winds up plugging away, doing their job. They have a bit more exposure now, but I stand by my analogy. Sin City, too, has been plugging away for some time, overshadowed at first by Vivid and Wicked and VCA, and now by some of the newer companies. But Sin City is still here, still producing titles.

Hot Blooded follows this analogy further still. There isn't much in the way of star power here, but it's a solid title of solid sex. Full points to the first scene, in particular, for giving us a lovely auburn haired girl in a tub. I'm figuring that, in short order, there's going to be some random naked guy wandering up, doing the blowjob slouch. You've seen that, right? The one where porn guys sag their entire upper body and thrust out their pelvis? But this doesn't happen here. In fact, our very well stacked chica gets another lady to try out. The scene does lack some heat from the fact that neither woman appears to be an out and out lesbian or bisexual. Lots of toys, very little tongue work. The redhead does do a slight bit of ass licking, but she seems rather anal averse, air balling it quite a bit of the time. Nice, but not great. This one is more eye candy.

The running gag here, of course, is that this woman keeps popping up from scene to scene, like a cross between a Michael Ninn film and the Great Gazoo. The second scene has a blonde that should be banned from dressing herself (I mean, really, pink cowboy slutwear?) and Tony Tedeschi, who I hate to say is probably a bit past his shelf life. The upside to this scene is that the girl is a squirter, which has its fans, surely. Not a sea of attractiveness, but solid work from both sides. Not a long scene, and the mouth shot at the end is a touch weak. Two scenes so far that could have been more, but alas...

Actually, I'm starting to think the girl popping in and out of every scene is more like the Jamaican relay team commercials from before the Olympics. She should come in when someone's getting a blowjob and shout " Stick Stick Stick!" Classic. The third scene is weak all the way through, not because of the stars, but because of the set. Couches should be by and large banned from adult films. They limit what positions the stars can achieve. Cowgirls are easy, but there's only so much time you can spend in that position. Missionary or doggy just look silly like that. Bah. There is some nice anal action in this scene, and the girl has a gorgeous face for taking a facial, so it's not bad. But again, what it could be...

I was looking forward to seeing Mika Tan by the back of the boxcover, though the introduction to the scene is downright goofy. She's in S&M lite gear (though both Sade and Masoch would no doubt scoff at this as belonging to their philosophies) getting whipped (in the front, for no discernible reason) by a guy that looks like a middle manager. Goofy. Not a bad sex scene, though someone needs to tell the director to zoom out during blowjob shots so we can, you know, actually see what's going on. There was an extreme close-up of her cheek. Not good. Average sex, and a piano serves as a bit of a better sex prop than a couch. Huge facial shot, and Mika may want to get her eyed checked for conjunctivitis with the load that went up there. Not bad, not great.

The last scene fairly well encapsulates all of the production problems... sweeping camera angles from extreme close-up to just a bad angle for no reason; mirrors for the sake of mirrors; bad props. A big facial, but that can't save it.

This is the type of film you'd rather watch in person than on a DVD. It's the production that really ruins the disc.
