Bonnie & Clyde 3

Not exactly a sequel to the Ashlyn Gere/Racquel Darrian "epic" BONNIE AND CLYDE, BC3 is one of those movies within a movie taking place in a similar setting and production as the original movie. Racquel Darrian plays an actress on the set of a movie production called "Bonnie" who is under the jealous thumb of her husband played by Amber Lynn's real life brother, Buck Adams. Racquel's real life significant other and sometimes director Derrick Lane, plays an actor in the movie, as does Jon Dough.

Surprisingly, Buck never gets to touch the hardbody of Racquel at all in this film, which would be damn frustrating for any porn actor, I imagine. Ms. Darrian typically only performs with her husband in most of her movies, but here, Mr. Dough gets to get his dick wet in the film's first outdoor sex scene involving a threesome with Derrick. Racquel wears a blonde wig in this scene, and while she still looks great, I prefer her to see her in her natural brunette form. Strangely, Jon Dough is denied an on-camera cumshot in this sequence, although he spills his seed all over Dyanna Lauren's fine form later on in the movie.

Exotic Isis Nile, looking better here than in most of her movies, goes down on Derrick before bending over for some standing doggy-style fucking. Their scene is well-directed, but the bluegrass-country instrumental which accompanies the action gets a little old after awhile (indeed, the C&W soundtrack here is one of the most persistent and annoying elements in the movie). My favorite scene involves a threesome between sexy Nicole London, super cute redhead Tara Monroe and Stephen St. Croix. With her overflowing breasts just bursting out of her sky blue bra and black jacket, Tara is a purring sex kitten as she and Nicole indulge in some heavy petting and lusty kissing. Lucky bastard St. Croix is on the receiving end of a dual blowjob where their tongues and his cock intermingle throughout. He also gets to poke Nicole anally before he spills his nut juice all over their faces. Paul Thomas has managed to infuse this scene with equal parts sensuality and rawness, making for one of the better threesomes I have seen in a Vivid/Wave movie.

The ending scene involves a three-girl encounter with Racquel Darrian, Asia Carrera and Tara Monroe. This ménage a trois is one of the best combination of different, yet all equally gorgeous ladies to appear in a lesbian sequence: Asia's exotic looks and tall slender body nicely complements Racquel's equally sexy form, while petite and busty Tara adds a nice change of visual pace. The action does not exactly compare favorably to other lesbian scenes mentioned in Adult DVD Empire's "Girls Who Love Girls" articles, but as a fan of all three actresses, I enjoyed every minute of this scene, which includes lots of lip-locking (upper and lower) as well as some rimming by Tara on Asia.

The video quality on this movie is an improvement on the original videotape release, which wasn't too good to begin with. Typical of so many shot-on-film features by Paul Thomas, this movie suffers from an unhealthy dose of grain and less that vivid colors. However, it is a pleasure indeed to watch this movie through the convenience of DVD than through a big clumsy videocassette.

The cover to this movie is fantastic, spotlighting a sexy Racquel lying on a table with her mile long legs in spiked red high heels pointed to the sky. I had an urge to buy the disc based on the cover alone. This is also one of the first Wave discs I have seen which features a pictured imprint on the disc itself (as opposed to plain blank silver). Naturally, this means that there is no "Side B" to the disc and an absence of any extra features usually found on that side. However, I don't consider it much of a loss at all to do without the extraneous repeated footage that Vivid throws on their discs as bonus features. So long as the studio gives us a good, faithful transfer of the original movie (complete and unedited) then I'm happy (it never made sense to me why Vivid would do a hatchet job on the main feature yet give us all these hours of edited footage from random movies). The bonus features which are included on this disc consists of six very good excerpts from other Vivid Videos, as well as a set of previews and promotional items (for those who care, there is no photo gallery to be found on this disc, does not bother me in the least bit. With my still shots, the viewer is sometimes better off just pushing the pause button on the remote during the main feature).

BONNIE AND CLYDE 3 is a very good Wave feature and worth getting along with the original movie and the next sequel THE REVENGE OF BONNIE AND CLYDE (also known as BC4). By the way, just to avoid confusion please note that there is no BONNIE AND CLYDE 2 available on DVD, because that film was edited as a single feature with part one in an unlabelled Director's Cut. So in a way, it's like getting four films for the price of three if you were to buy all of them together. It all depends on how much you adore lovely Racquel, who is definitely one of the best looking women to ever perform in adult movies.
