But if you missed it, check this one out, as Nikki Hunter returns to guide us through another round of beautifully shot debauchery.

Following a lengthy opening credit sequence (which reveals way too much), the stage is finally set, bathed in a golden light, casting a reddish hue over the actors. Ariana Jolie holds at the center, dressed in sheer black lingerie while sitting on a small couch. There is a fair amount of grain in the image, making the digital video footage resemble film. But none of this texture appears to be the result of compression or an inferior transfer. Still, there is a thin white line that occasionally flashes at the top of the image during the first scene, visible when "letterboxed" on standard displays. It's nothing major, but it can become annoying once spotted. Unfortunately, the audio track isn't as impressive as the video. A 5.1 mix would have been perfect, but all that's offered is a stereo track. Even worse, it doesn't sound that great. It's mixed a little low and the voices bounce off the walls of a seemingly large but hollow set. This makes the whole audio track sound a bit amateur, a quality that definitely clashes with the high-end visuals.

At first glance, the disc looks a bit dry when it comes to supplemental content, and it is if you're looking for background information on the movie's production. There is a rather generous photo gallery slide show, set to music and running 11 minutes in length. But the real treasure is the promotional cut of the first volume. All three scenes from Neo Pornographia are represented, retaining their anamorphic format but trimmed down to about 20 minutes each. Despite the cutting of nearly two-thirds of the original footage, the gist of each scene remains intact. First up is a scene with Audrey Hollander taking on a couple of guys. Then it's Melissa Lauren versus Sandra Romain in an adversarial girl-girl scene with Nikki Hunter serving as a referee of sorts. The last scene has Julie Night in a wild mini-gangbang with three guys. Even if you've seen the originals, watching these condensed cuts is still a treat. It also shows what can be accomplished through disciplined editing.

For Ninn, his trademark quick-cut editing style has always been a strength and a weakness, as some fans love it and others totally hate it. Perhaps age has made him relax a bit, as the editing here is smooth and almost serene compared to his earlier titles. In fact, there are minimal cuts, and when there is, it is usually done with a long dissolve to black before the action fades in again. The juxtaposition of the soft flowing editing and the hardcore imagery only adds to the title's unique atmosphere. As usual, great attention is given to the lighting and framing of each shot, further demonstrating Ninn's immense talent.

The limited involvement of the domineering Nikki Hunter is an absolute stroke of genius. While it's possible to wildly extrapolate on the deeper meaning of her role, it's best to just sit back and watch the show...she'll take good care of you. Although Nikki demands the filthiest of actions, she stays fully clothed throughout, allowing only slight glimpses of the full cleavage tucked within her conservative black suit. This makes her sporadic participation even more enticing whether she's smearing cum across a girl's face or lapping away at a clenched asshole. Hopefully Nikki returns for future installments, because at some point our naughty hostess needs to get fucked silly, but not too soon.

Those resting on their laurels need to take note immediately, as Michael Ninn has built up some serious momentum. And if this series is any indication, even greater success lies ahead.
