Gov Love: The Eliot Splitz-her Story

Every time a sex scandal breaks in the mainstream press, you better believe that a porn studio (or two) is going to create a spoof of it, and no one seems to be spoofing more material these days than Hustler. Gov Love is Hustler's take on the Eliot Spitzer scandal of a few months back, and while the production values here are rather low, the fun that star Mike Horner and Director Stuart Canterbury have with the story is fun to watch.

Horner is probably the perfect casting decision for this part, as he plays a governor planning an escort encounter (as "Client 69") on an upcoming trip to Washington, DC. Unbeknownst to him, the FBI (with agents played by Van Damage and Veronica Jett) has set up surveillance in the hotel room next door, although their plan has more to do with busting the escort agency involved ("The Pimperor's Club") than going after the governor.

I'm guessing it took maybe 20-mintues to throw together the story for Gov Love. Not a whole lot happens story-wise in this 91-mintue title, rather Canterbury has used the Spitzer story as a way of setting up some interesting sexual couplings which climax (for lack of a better word) with the governor's sexual encounter.

Kayla Paige heads up "The Pimperor's Club" agency, and shortly after we are introduced to her character, we get to see her make out with Dino Bravo on a desk. Penetration here covers the missionary, reverse cowgirl and standing doggy positions, and the pop-shot has Dino shooting his load onto Kayla's outstretched tongue.

A female lobbyist played by blonde Angela Stone is in a meeting with the governor. He has to leave, but his aide Marcus London stays behind for a little action on the office desk with Angela. After penetration in the missionary, standing doggy and reverse cowgirl positions (the latter of which features Angela squirting), Marcus jerks his load into her mouth.

Perhaps the best scene in Gov Love is the third one, which has our two FBI agents - Veronica Jett and Van Damage - making out in their hotel room. The only slight mistake that Director Canterbury makes here is that he lets Veronica take off her glasses for the sex. Otherwise, this is a pretty hot scene that ends with Van Damage unloading on Veronica's stomach.

No good porn movie would be complete without at least one lesbian scene, and Gov Love offers one up between Kissy Kapri and Emma Heart, who are playing two escorts who work for Kayla Paige. They make out on a couch and after 69ing (with Kissy on top), they share a double-ended clear jelly dildo with each other in a couple of different positions.

The final scene, naturally is the one where Mike Horner meets up with his escort, played by a fishnet-wearing Cassandra Cruz. If one can get over the fact that Mr. Horner is probably a little too old to still be performing in front of the cameras, this is a solid scene - especially if you have an older man/younger girl fetish. Shockingly, the FBI doesn't come in to bust the governor at the end of this movie, leaving room for a possible sequel should this release prove to be a solid seller for Hustler.

Also interesting is the fact that we never see the governor's wife in the movie, which (I would think) could have made for some interesting sexual scenarios involving her - especially when she found out what her husband has been up to. Again, one wonders if a sequel to this movie has already been mapped-out.

The movie is presented in anamorphic widescreen and looks pretty good on DVD, although it's not a pristine transfer. Audio is solid, but it's only presented in 2.0 Dolby. Customers should also be aware that even though the box cover for the film states that anal action is involved, there is no anal at all in the title (not even via toy use).

Extras on the disc consist of a 15 ½-minute behind the scenes featurette; a slide show; and seven trailers for other Hustler releases.

So, does Gov Love deserve your vote? Well, it all depends on what you're looking for in a title. If you don't demand a great story and high production values with your adult features, this one's worth checking out for the sex alone. If you need a great tale along with your sex, you might want to pick a different candidate.
