On the Loose

It's always a love hate relationship with Adam & Eve. Most of their work is so good that the bad stuff sticks out more than usual.

What I'm not used to is something as ambiguous as On the Loose. It's all good, solid, decently shot, but there's still something lacking here.

It certainly isn't the feisty Brooklyn Rhodes, though. The hot little blonde starts the festivities with a traditional bedroom romp. The video can get grainy at times, and the digital wonderland that is DVD shows the limitations of the video and the audio. The lighting can be dark at times, too. The editing is really only so-so, since we can see some, but the choice of locations and positions isn't conducive to the greatest porn in the world.

Brooklyn and Shelbee do much for this film, though, and make it worth picking up. Gwen too, really, though her scene was too dark to really show her off. (I know, she's a bit pale and they were worried about the contrast... back off. She's pretty.) Shelbee in particular gets some kudos, and I'm off to go draft that application letter/mindless pleading for a job with her...

Adam and Eve is a name that has come to embody quality adult entertainment geared toward couples. Unfortunately, "On The Loose" falls a bit short of that mark, largely due to the relatively unknown, and fairly unattractive cast.

THE STORY

The story here is about Monique (Monique DeMoan), who after a long time returns to her old apartment complex. The residents are abuzz about this woman, whose reputation apparently proceeds her. After discovering she can't find an apartment in her old complex, she gets in touch with a real estate agent who finds her one (even though she vows halfway through the movie to only live in her old complex). To seal the deal, they have sex. In the end it turns out that Monique is actually wanted by the law and...well nothing. The movie ends right there.

Rather than go on to show whether Monique with the couples lusting after her, or explaining what she was wanted for, the movie just ends. Even by porn standards this is a poor plot.

THE SEX

As said before, this movie is hampered by it's cast. Although most of the women in this movie are quite attractive by normal standards, they do not live up to the sex kitten, silicone enhanced standards that we have come to expect from adult entertainment today.

However, I wouldn't say the movie is all bad. The good thing about this film is that all of the sex is well done. Fast paced, aggressive blowjobs, and wide angle shots mixed nicely with closeups. This is exactly the way all porn should be shot.

Scene 1

Brooklyn Rhodes and her boyfriend discuss Monique appearing at the apartment complex. The boyfriend just wants to fuck, and Brooklyn complies.

Monique and the real estate guy decide to get it on. If you want a laugh, watch the beginning of this scene. As Monique enters the real estate guy's apartment she says "Now this is a nice apartment!" Anyway, instead of teaming Monique up with a lusty couple, she merely goes after this real estate guy. The sex is average, but after all the buildup about what a sex kitten Monique is, this scene is disappointing.

FEATURES

This disc has a very nicely designed interface. Chapter stops on this disc try to jump you to different positions or the cumshot in a scene, however they are placed poorly and you will often find yourself fast-forwarding or rewinding to find exactly what you want to see.

This disc does features a self playing/controllable gallery, cast biographies, and a girl-girl bonus scene.

VIDEO/AUDIO

Video was good, and audio was clear. However, I found the audio in this film a bit problematic. The "theme" music made the movie seem like it should be a comedy, and the music that played during sex scenes was too loud. It was almost at the same level as the noises the couples were making, which I found distracting.

SUMMARY

Although there is nothing really wrong with this disc, adding up the casting, story and music made this movie fall short with me. If you're a fan of any of the performers, or if you're looking for something you can watch with a girlfriend/wife, you might try this one out. If not, I would recommend you try one of the many other titles here at Adult DVD Empire.
