Who will be the the Last Man Standing?

By Dr. Mabuse
Lately I've been gravitating toward features from companies like Metro and Sin City. While they may not have the production values and big-name contract stars found in features from the bigger studios, their movies are rarely inferior and occasionally better. Sin City's Last Man Standing definitely ranks up there.

Things start off quickly as Dillion Day and Alexandra Quinn get it on in a relatively soft scene. After Dillon pops on her face, Alexandra starts talking about marriage and children. Needless to say, he begins to panic. Whew! As it turns out, this is all a daydream; Dillion is really at a friend's (Jason Silver) wedding, but judging by his solemn attitude, you'd think it was a funeral. Dillion and his other single friends (Cheyne Collins, Pat Myne, and Chris Cannon) are so disgusted by the whipped nature of their "fallen" friend, they decide to take action to ensure the same thing never happens to them. To preserve their bachelorhood all four men agree to invest $100 a month into a mutual fund; the guy who remains single the longest (or the "Last Man Standing") takes the pot.

At the end of a year, all four men are still in the game. That is until one night when the guys go out to a strip club and Chris arranges a private session for Pat. Lezley Zen takes Pat into a back room and gives him a bit more than a table dance. Starting with a great blowjob, the two work their way through a couple of positions (missionary & reverse cowgirl) before Pat busts a nut on her tongue. Apparently that was enough to take Pat out of the running; in the next shot he's married.

A year later Cheyne finds himself at the alter with Mia Smiles. But before the preacher (Evan Stone) can conclude the ceremony, Cheyne puts on the brakes and tells his buddies he needs a bachelor party before he gets married. He takes off with Dillon and Chris in tow, leaving pretty Mia behind. At the bachelor party Cheyne gets his chances with a stripper (Taylor St. Clair) but before things can get under way, Mia's friend (Keri Windsor) tries to talk some sense into him. Cheyne still plans to marry Mia, he just wants to have some fun first.

Watching this conversation from a distance, Chris tells Dillion that he used to be with Keri back in college. But things went south when she caught him with her roommate (Kelsey). This initiates a flashback to that night. Chris and Kelsey jump on each other as soon as Keri leaves the apartment to go to the store. They frantically undress and get underway. Kelsey wraps her lips around Chris's cock for a quick suck and then mounts him for a wild ride. After some reverse cowgirl and doggy action, Chris gives her a facial just about the time Keri returns from the store.

Meanwhile back in the present, Cheyne is in the midst of receiving some nice deep throat work from Taylor. Later Taylor assumes a doggy position, allowing Cheyne to grab hold of those great hips and knock it in from behind. Big boob fans will enjoy the jiggling action of Taylor's natural jugs especially during the following cowgirl and spoon sequences. This all leads to the point where Cheyne sprinkles his load into Taylor's open mouth. Unfortunately the action is cut too quickly just as Taylor begins some post climax sucking. This scene is certainly on the tame side for Taylor, but still a pleasure to watch.

Elsewhere at the party, Keri and Dillion strike up a conversation. She is still determined to get back at Chris, and Dillon begins to side with her. He tells her about their little bet and invites her to be his guest at a BBQ held at Chris' place later in the week. Keri wants to be the one to knock Chris out of the game.

On the day of the BBQ, Chris and Dillion are hanging out before all the guests arrive. While killing time, Chris relates a story about getting a blowjob in an airport restroom. Once again, we're treated to a nice flashback sequence as Cheryl Dynasty goes down on Chris. For a newbie, Cheryl really knows her trade, taking a hands-free, deep throat approach. She coaxes a decent load from Chris which she mostly takes in her mouth...nice work!

In short, Keri convinces Chris to marry her, but leaves him handcuffed to a bed at a roadside motel as part of her revenge. Supposedly this leaves her open to date Dillion, the winner of the pool. Although Dillion is still mad about her decision to marry Chris, he doesn't hesitate when she shows up at his house. Appreciated for her amazing girl/girl work, Keri isn't a slacker in her scene with Dillion. She really gets into the action producing one of the most vocal performances in the movie; particularly when Dillion goes down on her. Following some enthusiastic positions (reverse cowgirl and doggy), Dillion strokes a load onto her longer than average tongue. This time around there's no cut as Keri proceeds to suck and tongue Dillion's still smoldering cock. Instead of ending there, the story continues as Dillion and Keri get married (this time by Bud Lee) with the whole cast in attendance. Got to love those happy endings!

Sin City has significantly refined the quality of their DVDs with their new "Signature Collection" series, but there's still room for improvement. Presented in a non-anamorphic widescreen format, the picture quality on this disc is pretty good but still exhibits some occasional pixelation, mainly visible in the darker scenes. As evident in other recent Sin City releases, the stereo audio format is polarized with voice and natural sounds heard in the left channel while music and other post production sounds are isolated to the right channel. Couldn't this be mixed a bit better? In addition, some of the dialogue recording is simply sub-par. Fortunately, the disc gains some of this lost ground when it comes to extras. The behind the scenes featurette could be longer, but things improve with more than 20 minutes of cast interviews. There's also the usual photo gallery, some trailers, and a few short bios. Although the movie was directed by Jack Vincennes, there's a bio for Michael Raven...mistake? Also, despite its listing on the box cover, I couldn't find a bloopers segment.

While it may not be award worthy, Last Man Standing is a solid feature with an interesting story and a good cast. The roles here aren't too lofty making them an easy and credible fit for everyone involved, especially Keri Windsor and Chris Cannon. On top of that, the script has a couple of tasteful flashbacks used to propell and enhance the story telling process. Overall, this is a fun and occasionally humorous movie, making it an easy feature to recommend.
