Steele is hot, but plot is not.

By breasty
Selena Steele certainly is a stand out beauty, almost a Gina Gershon look alike, and she looks great in this John Leslie film. This is a murder mystery in which Steele plays a stripper named Lucky whose girlfriend stripper Ronnie (Tracy Winn) has a boyfriend that has been murdered. Steele helps the cops figure out who done it, so to speak. The finger points to her friend Ronnie because Joey (Ronnie's boyfriend) was a heavy user who treated women badly. He beat Ronnie up and she threatened to kill him. The film is set in a police station office with Lucky being interviewed by two detectives, a man and a woman. The four sex scenes are flashbacks from the story she gives them. Lucky and Ronnie plan to take the money they make from striping and open a hair salon with it. The acting and story are so-so, but the sex is pretty hot.

The first scene is a bachelor party attended by crass yuppies. Steele goes off to give the groom, Buddy (Joey Clupper, aka Joel Lawrence), a blowjob in the back room. Two pros leave the party because the guys are out of cash, but Ronnie stays and dances for them. The scene cuts between the two rooms, with Ronnie agreeing, after a lot of pressure, to get off two of them, Randy Spears and another guy. I could have done without the reaction shots of the guys watching. They were a needless distraction from the sex, and I personally don't like scenes that cut back and forth from one couple to another. But Winn really is hot and comes across as rather innocent and loveable. Steele has a nice pair of fake tits, and Winn has a great pair of very perky, smallish tits. She has a very nice, model-like figure and long legs. She is even prettier than Steele. Steele's major talent is sucking cock. Their pussies are nicely shaven. There is no lingerie, except for Ronnie's panties, and that is a disappointment for me.

In the next scene, Joey goes off with one of the strippers, Jessica (Cassidy) to the back room of a strip club. She gives him head while another guy plays cards in the background. They have intercourse doggy style and then we cut to the two girls going out to the dance floor where they make out. They play in a big suds bowl, lot of hair swinging. She gives him a hand job, and he cums on her tits. Again this scene was marred by cross cutting and by the needless shots of the guy playing cards.

It turns out she Jessica is married. The husband meets up with them with his three friends, three huge black women who beat him up. Afterwards, Joey seems a new man, and makes up with Ronnie. But Joey gets high and hits on Lucky who rebuffs him. He lies to Ronnie and tells her that Lucky hit on him. She believes him and moves in with him, and she works at other clubs.

In the next sex scene, Joey is shooting a porn video of a couple (Heidi Kcat and Nick East ). She talks in and sees him join in. Joey tries to talk Ronnie into joining them, but she leaves. Ronnie sits in her car and the couple comes out and she gives the guy head. Cassidy gives a truly depraved performance here. Quite hot, especially her laughter when the guys come.

The next development plot concerns three strippers who tell her she can't kiss black men in the audience. Lucky head butts one of them. The girls then go and offer sex to a guy named Harold (Steve Drake) in the last sex scene of the film for a three-way scene in a car. There's lots of tongue action and hoover sucking from both Winn and Steele, and a great reverse cowgirl from Steele. As is typical of Steele's performances, she smiles a lot while giving head. This is the best scene of the film, with no cutting back and forth, no distractions.

Over all this is not a great feature. Not enough sex, and not enough well-filmed sex. But if you are a fan of Steele, this is certainly a good buy.

The transfer quality is good, though there is graininess to the image, and there are five animated chapter stops. A cast list with "jump to hot scenes" buttons for Steele, Tracy Winn, Heidi Kcat and Cassidy. There is a catalogue of other titles, but no trailers.

Anything goes in ANYTHING THAT MOVES

By Diesel
Selena Steele gives a simply stunning performance in ANYTHING THAT MOVES, a moody and erotic movie by John Leslie. Bathed in blue lighting throughout most of the hardcore scenes, Director Leslie tells a surprisingly taut and tension-filled tale of two strippers (or as they now prefer to be called, exotic dancers) involved in a tale of vengeance and murder told in flashback during a police confessional. Shot on 35 MM film, this is one good-looking film, filled with plenty of erotic moments to make it one of the best pornos to come out in the nineties.

Tracy Winn co-stars with Selena, and their individual and paired sexual exploits are the hottest ever filmed in their porno careers. However, the absolutely adorable, auburn-haired Cassidy almost steals the show in her straight scene, where she positively burns the screen. While Selena and Tracy are called on-stage to perform an amazing girl-girl scene, Cassidy gets it on backstage with some eye-watering blowjobs and heated doggy-style sex. An underrated, almost forgotten actress from yesteryear, Cassidy has an ass and attitude built for sex, and it's bewildering that she never achieved superstar status. While she is setting the backstage on fire, Tracy is at center stage taking a sensuous bubble bath in an oversized brandy glass. Suddenly, Selena appears in a tight-fitting black outfit, which hugs every over-endowed curve in her petite body, as she slinks around the stage and sneaks up on the very wet Ms. Winn. She literally attacks Tracy with deep tongue kisses, and rubs her pretty pussy directly into her partner's face. Although Tracy is at least a full foot taller than Selena, their lesbian encounter is perfectly paired and well-coordinated, with the camera zooming in and out of their bump and grind bath show. Both scenes build to a mutual climax, and it is one of the best intercut scenes I have ever witnessed. As if to match their earlier girl-girl scene, Selena and Tracy perform a spectacular dual blowjob on Steve Drake in the back of a limousine. As they suck and lick at Steve's tool, their tongues intermingle for some simply awe-inspiring French kissing. Moaning and giggling, gasping and cooing, these two put on a great show, and it's a pleasure to watch two brunette babes with such chemistry go at and with each other with such energy and debauchery. As Mr. Drake has his way with them one at a time, then both at once, and then switching off again, the viewer is left breathless...I certainly was.

Brunette Heidi Cat, resembling a younger and sexier Linda Fiorentino, also appears in the film, sharing a very good threesome with Nick E. and Nick Santearo. She finishes the first Nick off with a lusty blowjob outside of a parked car, while Tracy waits inside. Heidi's attempt to taunt the understandably disconcerted Tracy is surprisingly hot, although I think that the director could have taken the scene a step further by having Heidi lick off the splooge that ends up all over the driver's side window (instead of smearing it with her hand). In any event, Heidi contributes yet another imaginatively directed fuck and suck in an already amazing movie. Porn fans should also watch out to all-too-brief cameo appearances by fan favorites Teri Diver (an incredibly curvy and sexy red-head who appeared in VCA's NIKKI DIAL IS STILL HARD TO STOP) and Flame (another fiery red-head who retired from porn much too soon).

Although extras are somewhat limited as is the case with all "VCA Classics," I really didn't care. The simple photo gallery and chapter selection options were good enough for me. With porn this good, the feature is all that matters. However, it is worth mentioning that predictably, the picture quality on this movie is terrific. Although most features shot on film usually very grainy look (and why is that with American films? Private Videos from Europe never seem to have that problem!), the transfer here exceeds that of the original laserdisc, and the colors are rock solid. The jazzy score sounds almost as good as any mid-budget Hollywood release, which makes for the best possible home video presentation of this film.

The cover of the DVD is absolutely eye-catching: Selena is naked on all fours, stalking around mud and bushes (but no, she is not wearing a dog collar and being to sniff a glove as in THIS IS SPINAL TAP) like a wild animal. This cover perfectly conveys the tension and animal-like sex which pervades through the film, and is a model in perfect video box cover design.

Although reviews I have seen have dismissed the movie as being nothing special, I strenuously beg to differ. Since the VCA DVD Classics line is relatively inexpensive compared to newer, more recent releases, I suggest that anyone interested in original and highly erotic works of porn art give this DVD a good, hard [pun intended] look. To me, ANYTHING THAT MOVES is a keeper.

Anything Goes!

By Spooky
ANYTHING THAT MOVES is one of those rarities in the adult film world: A movie that spends more time developing its story than it does focusing on the sex. Although I didn't time it, I'm pretty sure that the actual number of minutes spent on dialogue and plot outweighed the length of the sex scenes. Unfortunately, neither the story or the sex is very interesting, although we are given a pretty good cast to look at and director John Leslie makes a noble effort in trying to give the viewer a good murder-mystery, complete with a NYPD Blue-type interrogation of the lead actress, Selena Steele.

Selena stars along with Tracy Winn as two dancers, and occasional escorts, who are the best of friends. Tracy is trying to deal with her boyfriend, played by Tim Lake, who is a cheating, lying, abusive male. Selena and Tracy make a great couple...one is petite and the other is tall and leggy, but both are fantastic looking and it makes me wonder what ever happened to them. It's also nice to see an adult film where none of the main characters are blonde, which seems to be almost a pre-requisite in today's porn.

In the opening scene, Selena and Tracy find themselves at a bachelor party for Joel Lawrence. Joel gets to take Selena in the back, meanwhile, Randy Spears tries to talk Tracy into doing the rest of the guys. She finally agrees on doing two, one of which (of course!) is Randy.

The next day, Tracy's boyfriend is hitting on a girl (played by Cassidy) right in front of her. He takes her to an adjacent room and starts fucking her even though Tracy is nearby. Once again, just an average sex scene here, although I did find it humorous that one of the club workers sat in the back and played cards even though Tim and Cassidy were going at it right in front of him. I had the same reaction, unfortunately. Neither actor did much to try and inject any passion or eroticism into the scene.

It should be pointed out that while all this is going on, we are constantly flashing back and forth between Selena being interrogated by the police, and what has happened with Selena and Tracy concerning Tim Lake's character. It becomes obvious very quickly that Tim has been killed by someone and that Selena and Tracy are both prime suspects.

The scene that comes closest to establishing some real sparks in the movie comes next as we first see a semi-threesome between Heidi Kcat, Nick East and Tim Lake. I say "semi" because during certain points of the scene, one of the two men will grab a video camera and start filming the action, thus not participating in it anymore. Meanwhile, Tracy, who has been watching all of this, goes out to her car, where she is soon joined by Heidi and Nick next to the rolled up window. Heidi starts blowing Nick in front of Tracy, who can't help but start masturbating. Although I was kind of hoping she would roll down the window and help out a little, the scene is still strangely erotic, mostly because I guess it's not the kind of thing you expect to see when looking out of your car window!

There is a final scene between Selena, Tracy and Steve Drake in the back of a car that really doesn't have much to do with the rest of the story, but since it is the only scene that Selena and Tracy perform in together (although the closest they come to any girl/girl action is a bit of tongue licking as they blow Steve), it is worth noting.

As I mentioned at the outset of this review, ANYTHING THAT MOVES doesn't quite live up to what it could have been, considering the talent involved. It mostly fails on a sexual level, never being able to muster up the passion we see in many other adult films. The story, although also somewhat disappointing, is a noble effort, especially since story development is such a rarity in adult film, especially during the period (early 90's) this movie was made. The video isn't the best, but probably the best transfer that VCA was able to get from their source material. The audio is fine, and the features, while not extensive, do offer a slide show, the ability to jump to your favorite scene or favorite actress and a listing of catalog titles.

Since I am a fan of both Selena and Tracy, it was nice to see them both in a movie together as the stars, and they certainly looked as sexy as I remember. Although not the highlight of either of their careers, ANYTHING THAT MOVES is certainly one of the better classic titles available on DVD and worth a look for serious porn collectors or fans of either of the actresses.
