Private Chateau: The Struggle For Power

Every year, Private launches at least one multi-part production. This year, it's Private Chateau, and "The Struggle For Power" is part one of their latest epic. The movie is notable not only for its hardcore sex (does anyone film European girls in action better than Private?), but for the return of Silvia Saint - who has a girl/girl scene with Cristina Bella in the movie.

Private movies always seem to lose something in the translation, and although this title is primarily filmed in English (a few of the actors get dubbed, but most are speaking English), the storyline of Private Chateau can be a little confusing to follow. The story spans several different generations and, therefore, has scenes in several different time periods - including 1100 A.D., the 1930's and the Present Day. The extras on the disc reveal that the story was actually created to coincide with the real-life launch of a label from Private - which may explain why the story here seems somewhat choppy and not as well-thought-out as some of the previous Private features we have seen.

Of course, the story isn't nearly as important as the sex, and Private Chateau delivers eight hot scenes during the 104-minute running time of "The Struggle For Power". As the movie opens, Mya Diamond is having a threesome with a guy and another girl (who may be McKenzie Lee...one of the biggest problems with this release is trying to identify the performers) that includes anal penetration for both girls and a facial on both of them at the scene's conclusion.

Cristina Bella shows up for her first of two scenes next, this one a boy/girl that includes anal in the spoon, cowgirl and missionary positions. Cristina is easily one of the best-looking ladies in the movie, so it's nice to see her in action more than once on this DVD.

The main storyline in "The Struggle For Power" revolves around a wedding between characters played by Victoria Swinger and Dannyboy. He's basically marrying her for the betterment of his family, even though he doesn't love her - and the best sex scenes in "The Struggle For Power" are the two that involve Dannyboy - as he first has sex with his wife (wearing bridal white, of course) and then gives up on her (because she won't do anal!) and goes over to the next room where Dora Venter (appropriately dressed in black) can't wait to have his cock up her behind!

One of the big selling points of "The Struggle For Power" is Silvia Saint, but she has a rather limited role in this first part of Private Chateau. She plays a reporter who is covering the wedding and gets into a lesbian tryst with Cristina (who's playing a photographer) on top of a piano. Both girls take turns using sex toys on one another, with Cristina using a green toy on Silvia, and Silvia using a blue toy on Cristina. Near the end of the scene, both women use the toys for a little anal exploration of the other, and things wrap up with some passionate kisses between the performers.

Other scenes in "The Struggle For Power" include a threesome between Silvia Lancome, Claudia Claire and a guy (who I believe is Tom Cruiso); a mini-orgy that involves Carmen Vera, Letizia Bruni (both dressed as maids) and three other men; and a movie-ending threesome between Mya Diamond, Steve Hooper and Remigio Zampa that features Mya getting double penetrated in a couple different positions.

Almost as fun to watch as the feature presentation is a second disc that comes loaded with bonus features. Included on the second DVD is a 20-mintue "Making Of" featurette, as well as a 23-minute Shooting Diary. The bonus disc also includes separate interviews with director Conrad Son and performers Dannyboy, Silvia Lancome, Gina Blonde, Letizia Bruni, Claudia Claire, Roberto Chivas, Dries, and Tom Cruiso. Rounding out the bonus disc are a pair of photo galleries; the 3-minute trailer for Private Chateau; and bios for selected female performers.

The main disc features five trailers for other Private titles; three separate ads for Private and its websites; plus a language selection for the movie. Private Chateau is presented in the anamorphic widescreen format, but despite the fact the movie has been enhanced for widescreen TVs, it's not nearly as sharp or as colorful as some other adult features I have watched in the widescreen format. Still, it looks pretty nice for a porn flick. The audio, in case you're wondering, is presented in 2.0 Dolby.

All in all, the first part of Private Chateau wasn't nearly as exhilarating as past productions like Private Gladiator or Cleopatra, but it's still a lot of fun to watch and contains some of the better sex scenes you'll see in an adult production this year. It's worth picking up.
