Living In Sin...

By Spooky
A couple times every year, Vivid pulls out all the stops and puts its money behind a big production that makes even their other well-produced movies pale in comparison. In 2003, that movie was Paul Thomas' Heart of Darkness. This year, it's Paul Thomas' The 8th Sin, and it's worth every penny.

Directed by Thomas and written by porn scribe Raven Touchstone, The 8th Sin is actually four stories rolled into one. Each section of the movie takes a look at a different couple - each one having their own sexual problems. As the film progresses we see how these characters and their lives intertwine with each other - so by the end of the movie viewers are left with one large coherent story.

The first couple we are introduced to are Victoria and Rick, who are played by Holly Hollywood and Alec Metro. Holly is a big-time porn actress, while Rick is a notable porn director. But seeing his wife get it on with other guys in front of the camera isn't quite enough to fill Rick's sexual needs. He convinces her to strip naked and hang out on a street corner, where she is soon picked up by a cop (Rod Fontana) for indecent exposure.

Chili (Rebecca Love) and Jimmy (Tony Tedeschi) are a couple where Chili helps get extra money by selling her body to various clients. In other words, she's a high-class escort. Jimmy seems to hate the fact that other guys get to have their way with his girl, but that doesn't stop Rebecca from having a number of sexy rendezvous, including an office encounter with Eric Masterson, and a bedroom romp with Mario Rossi.

Tom (Eric Masterson) is a lonely bachelor who tries to fill the hole in his life by bringing mail-order-bride Eva (Dasha) into his life. While Eva seems like everything a guy could possibly want (she's a nympho in the bedroom and she doesn't speak a word of English!), it's all an illusion - as we soon find out Dasha is working with a couple of nasty hoods (Anthony Hardwood and Mario Rossi) to extort $50,000 from Eric.

The movie saves the most interesting couple for last. Sara (Violet Blue) and Danny (Rod Fontana) are a couple whose sex life seems to be going nowhere. So while Danny is at work as a cop, Sara stays home and gets involved in an online relationship with Rick (Alec Metro's character from earlier in the movie). Since he no longer gets off on his wife doing kinky stuff, Rick uses Sara as his sexual slave - first getting her off over the net, then having a couple finger her under the table at a restaurant. He then convinces her to meet him at a hotel for their first meeting...but Sara has to wear a blindfold and Rick leads her out to an orgy - where Sara gets a sexual taste of everybody before finally removing her blindfold and taking anal from Rick in what is The 8th Sin's most sexually-charged scene.

Not only has Vivid done a nice job with the bonus features on this disc - providing fans once again with a nice selection of bonus scenes, slide shows, a behind the scenes segment, multiple angles and trailers - but they've gone the extra mile by including a second DVD containing the full-length feature Seven Deadly Sins (which The 8th Sin is not a sequel to) as an extra goodie for purchasers.

If you're a fan of a good adult feature, or are just looking for something with plenty of sexual action (The 8th Sin has almost a dozen different sexual scenarios), then be sure to add this one to your collection. It's a film your sure to hear more about when awards season rolls around next January at the AVN Show.
