Shades of Red

In literature, movements are started by one original, a predecessor, with subsequent thematic cousins of varying levels of quality. William Blake was the predecessor for Percy Shelley and William Wordsworth and Lord Byron. But for every quality Romantic poet, there were surely others for whom words were an art form of fumbling.

Then there was the semi-recent development of Michael Ninn forming his own studio to produce ArtCore, his idea of fusing artistic quality with well filmed, hot adult action. Following this, we have the copies. Marty Zion's Shades of Red seems to follow the Innocence series from Ninn Worx. One scene, a simple rotating set, slow action. That is there, but lacking is the directorial sense that glues everything together.

The first scene is of a man sketching a woman as she slowly loses the sheer garment decorating her on a rotating circular bed. Average looks, lacking the film treatment and makeup work a Ninn feature might have. While it might seem unfair to constantly use this as a method of comparison, it should be noted that many people don't care for Ninn's work. A sloppier copy may not go over even that well. A few jumpy cuts from shot to shot, though they do take enough time to capture the rather good 69 the couple enjoys. Then more head on both ends. Several conventional sex positions reveal a kind of digital effect employed over the footage... it seems almost intentionally blurred. Not bad, in fact quite good, but not really what I was expecting. The sex itself seems a bit mechanical in this first scene as well, with an average money shot on her breasts. Quick fade.

The brunette that starts the second scene can be called many things: hot, gorgeous, quite fuckable, etc. Cute comes to mind, though, as well. She just has that look. She's wandering around this room, tearing down curtains and discovering video screens behind them. Strange. She does some hot solo work, and my hopes are raised that this will be a solo scene, but it's not to be. She goes over to one of the male mannequins, and voila, he comes to life. Much more built than the plastic model, but that's nitpicking. And here's where things get interesting. He goes down on her, and he stays down there much longer than in normal porn. Voila... and ooh, what a nice surprise. You see, she squirts. Maybe that's not the right term. She gushes. I'll spare you further play by play for the rest of the scene, but she goes off big time - three times! And then she takes his load in her mouth.

Scene three is the slowest developing scene I've witnessed in some time. One decent looking brunette starts off dancing at what looks to be the typical entryway for a professional wrestler. I can't explain the set at all. Very industrial, I guess. And she plays with herself for a bit, decently slow. A pretty dirty blonde (hair color and demeanor) comes in and works her over with the tongue. They get into a 69, my favorite thing for a lesbian scene, but didn't really do well by the camera angles. Oh well. But then a guy shows up. Rather late, I thought. So they both go down on his huge tool (side note: if you can ever get a two girl blowjob like this, I highly recommend it... it really is that good). The dirty blonde gets fucked for a good long time, and this is really well shot. A credit to the directors. It's just good stuff in this scene, with a money shot in the mouth, and the girls kiss as they should.

There's more, though not quite as strong as the front end here. It's an artistic interpretation, and if you prefer your erotica to have that particular touch, go into it without expectations as to what it will be like. Let the comparisons fly after viewing and you should enjoy Shades of Red.
