Treasure Box

DVDs designed with the inescapable phone sex spiel should be illegal! And indeed that's how Erotic Angel's Treasure Box begins; a seemingly endless flow of cheesy ads that viewers cannot avoid. Therefore this disc, as some others sharing similar pattern, suffers from initial negative impression. There is, however, some saving grace... this is one of the finest examples of well-written couples porn I've seen to date. It's yet another shame though that the sexuality did not maintain a consistent level of heat throughout.

Treasure Box is a feature story that revolves around central character Jack, an egocentric sex starved money grubbing snake. Thick-membered Tony Tedeschi does an excellent job of playing the conniving man who's way too deep in a marital dilemma. Complimenting him, and at times even upstaging him, Kyle Stone fills the shoes of Jack's best friend and mousy confidant. Artie, as he's called, seams like a whipping post for Jack's ranting and raving. The plot that Jack is a willing victim of flows up and down with little intentional twists thrown in for good measure. Gorgeous Tianna is the apple in Jack's eye for two reasons; she's wealthy and she's sexually insatiable. The problem is... Tianna loses her inheritance if she fucks a man before marriage. As it were, things couldn't be worse because Jack is still technically married to Cookie (Cailey Taylor). Cookie was apparently quite unfaithful to Jack, as we see in a sneaky bedroom fuck session with John West. It's really no wonder considering Jack's personality, but nevertheless, divorce is inevitable. That being the situation, Jack cannot legally marry Tianna, but his patience is as virtuous as his compassion for people in general - nada!


The plan is to have Artie marry Tianna, but reap none of the literal nor figurative rewards of her treasure box. Those will be Jack's spoils once the legal issue is ironed out. Artie however finds this deal rather insulting. In his desire to please his brassy pal though, he concurs. The trio then heads off to the home of a rather distinguished man of the cloth - so to speak. Herschel Savage goes over the top in his portrayal of the , sex crazed preacher who barely musters the consciousness to differentiate a funeral dirge from wedding vows. This is yet again a wonderfully comedic ensemble of under-appreciated acting ability. Prior to Hershel and the pretty Faith fucking in a bathtub, Artie is officially wed to Tianna.

All is not well in this twisted world though. Tianna get the jitters about men in general following a deep and blunt conversation with a motel maid. The busty blonde attendant Tanya tells awful tales of the male species, further detailing the joys of girl/girl sex. A decent toy-assisted lesbian scene ensues. By the time the tryst ends, Tianna finds Jack to be just what everyone else already knew - an egocentric creep. Still, she continues on with the game. This time a visit to the preacher requires the tearing up of Artie and Tianna's wedding contract. Jack essentially agrees to allow Tianna to marry a chick instead. This way, at least as he sees it, he can still get his treasure box. Although Tianna is constantly horny, she now thinks only of women. So, as always, Jack has an idea; hire a bad girl to convince Tianna that chick love isn't "all that". The scheme doesn't work however. Rough and raunchy Daisy Chain takes Tianna to a new level of sexual euphoria while Jack sneaks off to fuck Holly Hollywood on the side. Upon his return, the greatest and final twist unravels. Tianna does indeed turn back to guys, but this time in the form of sweet and passionate Artie. Jack is dismayed and virtually disgusted, but he'll be okay. Wouldn't you know... Daisy and Jack were previously joined as career criminals, and, now there back in business!

If it comes as some surprise that the sexual depictions in this review are a bit thin... that's for a reason. As stated in the opening paragraph, the sex was not exactly mind blowing. In fact, it's probably going to seem too tame even for newbie porn consumers. While the script and overall plot were interesting, creative and entertaining, the screwing segments just barely broke even. Unfortunately many adult films tend to excel in one area while totally lacking in yet another. This is especially visible in the couples realm of adult. There are definitely some great exceptions to this trend, but viewers must be very careful in their quest to find a reasonable fix for the porno need.

As a DVD, Treasure Box delivers only a very limited range of interactive options. The menu presents the usuals; play movie, photos and trailers. Of course there is also a chapter breakdown, five in all, but it's not even in motion. Simple, unceremonious still photo icons represent each chapter. Further disappointing, the trailers option takes you right back to phone sex ads! And finally, a deceiving option reads "Cali Dreams and Lingerie". Clicking this will unlock to door to yet more advertisements. Upon final analysis, Treasure Box's superb comedy, fairly hot cast and interesting plot are not enough to save the film from mediocrity. Sex films are naturally supposed to be sexy; this film does not truly reach that level.
